abstract:

Cement industry produced large amount of waste. One of the main waste known cement kiln dust (CKD) which is effect negatively on the environment.

The present study  aims to investigation  the effect of add percents( 5 to 40%) of CKD in different advance fineness( 6000 to 11000 cm2/gm) as a partial replacement of cement on the consistency and setting time ( initial & final)  properties and compare two deferent CKD affect which is produced from two different Iraqi cement plants  .

The results shown that consistency are needed more water when increasing in replacement and fineness of CKD which came from increasing in surface area. Replacement of CKD for Bazin plant needed more water than CKD of Kufa plant to reach for same consistency which came from the different in chemical composition of CKD.

 The setting time ( initial & final) has different  affect where Bazin plant shown decrease setting time   with increase of replacement  and fineness  while Kufa shown increase  setting time  with increase of  replacement   and fineness of CKD.
