Some new fatty chain derivatives of quinazolinone have been synthesiszed from the two simple precursor of anthranilic acid and palmitoyl chloride. The novel quinazolinone derivatives are obtained via the nucleophilic interaction of 2-palmitoyl-4H-3, 1-benzoxazine -4-one with different nitrogene nucleophilies (semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide and phenylsemicarbazide) that yield 2-pentadecyl-quinazolinylurea (PQU), 2-pentadecyl-quinazolinylthiourea (PQT) and 2-pentadecyl-quinazolinyl phenylurea (PQP) respectively. Newly synthesized compounds were identified via spectral methods; their [FTIR and some of them by 1HNMR, 13C-NMR] and measurements of some of its physical properties, the inhibition effect of synthesized compounds on the corrosion of carbon steel in 2M HCl was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization. Morphology of the carbon steel was examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in presence and absence of inhibitor.
