The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Archeology, Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Hamdani, met on Wednesday 28/8/2019, the dean of the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Raid Kamel Naji, accompanied by a delegation from the Department of Geology  in the building of the Archeology and Heritage. The meeting dealt with an invitation to the Ministry to attend the conference of geological heritage and geological tourism organized by the Department of Geology at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad in cooperation with the Museum of Natural History. The conference is scheduled to be held in the period 11-12 of November this year.
Hamdani expressed the willingness of the Ministry and the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage to support the conference, saying that "the General Authority for Heritage and Antiquities is in the service of everyone. Also, there is progress in cooperation between the Commission and Karkh University of Science".
The two sides agreed on the participation of the Commission in the conference through lectures by geologists on historical geological features (Al-Tar caves, Lake Sawah, marshes and ecotourism, the movement of sand dunes and their impact on archaeological sites, Wadi al-Abyad, and the phenomenon of rivers). In addition, the conference will include the participation of the Iraqi Fashion House with a historic fashion show on the opening day, and the participation of the Department of Public Arts in a plastic exhibition.
